Presenting my all-time favorite Tapioca Waffles Recipe! These homemade waffles are healthy, crunchy, full of flavour, easy to make, and always a kids favourite.
What are Tapioca Pearls and How are they produced?
It is made with Casava roots. Cassava roots are finely ground to extract the starchy liquid. Following that, the residual water content is allowed to evaporate, yielding a fine white powder. Finally, this powder is subjected to manufacturing processes such as sieving under high pressure to produce bright white, translucent spheres that resemble pearls, hence the name tapioca pearls.
Tapioca pearls are primarily composed of starch, a simple carbohydrate that is easily digestible and provides a quick source of energy. When compared to other fibre-rich grains like wheat and oats. It has a low sodium content, almost no cholesterol, and a high calcium content, which helps to strengthen bones.
In gluten-free baking, this is a popular substitute for wheat flour. Tapioca starch can be found in the gluten-free section of supermarkets and health food stores.
